White Biotechnology

also known as industrial biotechnology, use living cells from different organisms – bacteria, molds, yeasts and plants, and their products, to manufacture the goods for industry, such as chemicals, plastics, and energy carriers. All of them are easily degradable, required less energy and generate less wastes during their production. The area of white biotechnology activity includes cell metabolite extraction and purifying, bio-fuel and energy production, development of biocontrol agents and metals recovery. Methods of white biotechnology are also applied to the industry to replace polluting technologies for clean ones as well as for waste treatment.
